Once you have the right version flash software to open the template… for changing the text you can look under different frames… sometime you might have to hide some layers to see whats beneath them… also at times the text is embedded somewhere within the action-script… you can try clicking different buttons etc to see their related action-script…
Ask your friend who know flash, because you might end up messing the source file. Editing template is pain in the ass, even for one who familiar with flash.
If you insist, try what aditya said. If failed, open “Library” panel by clicking Window>Library menu. Check one by one each item in library panel until you find the one you looking for. Double-click it to open and edit. Pay attention to its registration point (x and y coordinate in Properties panel). There possibly more than one symbol that contained the same text.
